At Unstacking Co. we unstack barriers to thriving by providing quality emotional health and grief processing resources and education for families, counselors, educators, churches, and individuals.
What Made That Feel So Hard? is the foundational book for the Unstacking Method - a methodology based on The Grief Tower by Lauren Wells that has been used by coaches, counselors, and in professional certifications worldwide to help adults and children to work through past and current grief. This book offers an easy-to-read, gentle approach to looking back on the hardships of your past and seeing how those have influenced your present. This book is written to individuals as well as practitioners desiring to use the Unstacking Method in professional or informal settings.

Our approach
Unstacking Co’s methods are an application of the principles explored in Lauren Wells’ book, What Made That Feel So Hard?: The Unstacking Method. The Grief Tower Model has been used to debrief thousands of families around the world and to certify hundreds of debriefers and therapists. While the concept was originally focused on helping expatriate families to deal with the stacked up grief in their globally mobile lives, we have seen that these same concepts can be a valuable tool for people from all walks of life.
